Joseph A. Woll
Joseph A. Woll of Chalfont, formerly of Hartsville and Doylestown, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 84.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (Schnell) Woll, to whom he was married for 62 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles N. and Helen (Kovach) Woll, and was preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria Taylor and Helen Strickland, and brother, Gerard H. Woll.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Charles J. Woll; his five children, Joseph A. (Cynthia), Mark E. (Julie), Patricia A. Chesson (Kenneth), Donna M. Gioia and Helen L. Strong; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Joe was a graduate of LaSalle College and Temple University. He was a teacher and department supervisor of the English Department at Upper Moreland High School, where he also coached baseball and directed plays and musicals. He was a teacher and manager of the Upper Moreland Adult School, Warwick Township Supervisor, Montco Teacher Federal Credit Union, and Upper Moreland Parks and Recreation Center.
Joe enjoyed working in his garden, watching the Phillies and enjoying time with his family. He loved spending time at their cabin in the mountains, where he loved to fish.
Relatives and friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until his funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 12, at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Catholic Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison, Pa. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
