Arts and Crafts - UMHS 63 Style

Denny Johnson came up with the brilliant idea of doing silhouettes of everyone.  He took over the ladies' room and set up shop, as we lined up outside waiting for our turn.

Professor Denny explaining the process

He even brought samples to show us

What a great teacher!

So much more interesting than Mr. Gamble! And no mallets to throw!

Here's Tina, trying not to laugh

Looks nice!

Karen's turn

Now Carole

How will he do Tom's ponytail?

There it is! Great work, Denny

Denny wasn't sure how many would be interested in doing this.  He was pleasantly surprised to find out just about everyone participated.

Now We Cut and Paste

And we were even allowed to use sharp scissors and knives!

Denny showing us how

Almost finished

Donna, are you learning how to do this?

Tom wants to make sure his ponytail is in the picture!

See, Denny, it's right here!

Denny will make sure it's there!

Doris, this is how Denny showed me

Both working hard

Secret instructions for Doris

Tony is really concentrating

Charlie is waiting his turn

Lynda looks so intent

Tina makes it look easy

Jean looks like she's having fun

Jean cuts, Doris takes picture

It's a shame we didn't have left-handed scissors for Lynda

Uh oh, John has a knife!

Who is this?

Definitely Donna!

How come Donna was the only smart one to tilt her head up to get rid of the extra chins??

Hoagies and More Hoagies

Early dinner - or late lunch - was simple this year.  Hoagies - ham, turkey and Italian, cole slaw, pasta salad, and fruit.  I think we all ate so many goodies before that we weren't really hungry.

Nancy made all the centerpieces.  One chair was marked at each table - the person sitting in that chair got to take a centerpiece home.

After we ate, we did a 50/50 to help with the expenses.  Ray Roberts, the winner last year, picked the winning ticket.  Sandy Granato went home $80 richer!

Me, Tom, Donna, Bonnie, and Charlie waiting in line - just like in the old cafeteria

Howard is patiently waiting, Sam is helping Sally get some fruit, while Lynda can't seem to make up her mind

It looks like Doris is reading tea leaves - in a cup of water - for Lynda

Robin deep in conversation with Carole

A happy couple of tables

Nancy, you look guilty.  Jean and Harvey seem to be enjoying themselves.

Carole, Stew, Denny, Bonnie, and Robin.  And Jimmy in the back snitching something from the food table.

Allan and Joan look happy

Carole and Stew - so cute!

Karen and Susan  - why the serious faces?

Karen thinks she has a winning ticket. What do you think, Sam?

Comparing tickets with Sally

Tony and Sam awaiting the drawing of the winning ticket

What is a party without a cake?

After all the eating, it was time to clean up.  Many thanks to those who helped in the kitchen.  We packed up bags of leftovers for everyone to take home.

Bonnie is washing dishes in the back, while Nancy wraps and Sandy just stares at all the food!

John is busy dishing up the pasta salad, Nancy is still wrapping while I'm tearing pulling out storage bags.  Sandy is still amazed at the amount of food left over.

Now I get it - Sandy is supervising while John does all the work! Smart move, Sandy!

There was a little bit left in the wine bottle.  Can't let it go to waste!
Don't judge!

Before and After

Donna flew in from California a few days early, staying with Sandy.  Judy, Carole and Sally arrived from North Carolina on Thursday.  The night before the reunion, they all gathered at Sue's house for dinner and fun.

Karen, what are you doing to Sally and Donna?

Such a great looking group - Judy, Sandy, Carole, Sue, Karen and Donna

Great looking girls in our class!

Judy drove back to North Carolina with Sally, Sandy and Donna.  Carole left to visit in Ocean City.  Or so they said...

Stopping for lunch at the Chesapeake Bay at Thimble Shoals tunnel

Donna and Sally look comfy in the truck

A nice spot for a picnic

Now, Judy said that she took Carole to the train to go down the shore.  But see those black bags in the back of the trunk? And they made a stop in North Carolina at the Dismal Swamp Canal.  Hmm.  You do the math!

Just kidding! I'm sure Carole is fine!

Judy hosted a dinner at her home for Sally and Wally, Sandy, Donna, and Diane Cimini and her husband John.  We missed Diane at the reunion - she was recovering from surgery.  Next year for sure, Diane!

UMHS 63 beauties - Sally, Diane, Sandy, Judy, and Donna

The handsome men - John MacQuarrie (Mr. Diane), Barry Pfiel (Mr. Judy) and Wally Waters (Mr. Sally)
