59th Reunion

We had our 59th mini-reunion on October 8 at Guiseppe's in Warminster.  We had a smaller turn-out than we have had in the past, but we still had fun.

We caught up on the past year and talked about our big reunion - #60 - next year.  I heard a few ideas about the type of reunion we should have.  I want to send out a questionnaire sometime next year to all the classmates to get suggestions.  Since 60 will probably be our last reunion, it needs to be special.

It seems we were too busy visiting to take a lot of pictures.  Thanks to Tina and John for the ones they took.

There's Tom Goodnow, Bonnie Mills' main squeeze, and Gary and Shirley (Bolmarcich) O'Hara

Gary Addy making a point with Ron Lear (probably discussing their 60th reunion the week before). At the food table - Bill Ischinger, Bonnie (Mills) Rausch, me, and Sue (Ritchie) Lear.

Bonnie and John McDonald in a serious discussion.  In the back, Nancy (Telmosse) Lyons and Judy (Miller) Reinmiller.  And our waitress!

Ron buying some 50/50 tickets from me, with Allan Brandt handling the money.

I'm trying to find something on a phone, with Joyce (Argue) Huffert and Carol Ann (McClure) Sleight watching attentively.  John's too busy with his phone to offer assistance.

Two dudes and a doll - Tony Pileggi, Allan, and Joyce

Sue, Peggy (Tull) Addy, and Ron.

Our official Golden Bear, thank to John

It was nice to see Bill Ischinger again this year.

Ray Roberts and me - caught with food in our mouths!

Don  Buehler and Peggy with Denny Johnson hiding behind Don.

Denny and Joan (Freeland) McGowan guarding the food, while Nancy, Judy and I are patiently waiting for our turn.

Tony - when are you going to start looking your age??  Don and Linda (Colbeck) Hoberg wonder the same thing.

John McGowan (Joan's husband) joined us this year and grabbed Tina Hollingsworth for a cute picture.

Denny and Joan. Is she winking at us?

Another cutie - Allan

Denny, Bonnie, and Tom enjoying lunch.

Say cheese, Tina!  Allan lost in thought.  Don praying while Linda looks on.  Bill waiting for more food!

Sue, Peggy, and Gary.  I think that's Tony on the left.  Don, Linda, and Bill having a meaningful discussion.

You should be able to identify all of us in this one,  I'm the one with the fat arms!

Tina is trying to figure out what Allan is thinking about.

Happy Don, Linda, and Bill

The O'Hara's and the McGowan's
Shirley won the 50/50 this year!

Tony explaining something to Ron

Joyce and Carol Ann looking at me as if I have the answers.  Nope!  Nancy just ignoring all of us!

Mini-reunion #59 finished.  Get ready for our big #60 next year!

59th Mini-Reunion

Time for #59! This is the invitation being posted on Facebook and emailed to those classmates for whom I have an email address. As these mini-reunions usually only bring in classmates who live in the area, I am not doing a full mailing.

UMHS Class of 63

59th Mini-Reunion

Wow! 59 years already! Who's ready for another little get-together? Must be fully vaccinated.

This year, we will be at Guiseppe's on Street Road in Warminster. The date is October 8, from 12:00-4:00 pm.

Appetizers around 1:00, lunch buffet shortly after. We'll do a 50/50 again (6 tickets/$5). We need to build up the fund for a big blow-out next year for #60.

Because of rising prices all over, we need to charge $25/person this year. Sorry about that. Soft drinks, coffee, and cake are included.

I need a final count soon, so please send your check and the bottom part of this invitation ASAP to:

Recital Time

Bonnie Mills, while going through old papers and stuff, found the following program from a piano recital in 1958, and sent it along to me.  Starring Bonnie Mills, Carole Lehman, and James McGhee.

Funny the things you learn about your spouse years later!

Congratulations, Judy!

An all-around athlete, Judy (Miller) Reinmiller (center) was inducted this year into the UMHS Sports Hall of Fame.  Judy was a member of the hockey team (captain in her senior year), basketball team (co-captain in her senior year), softball team, and volleyball team.  She was also in the Gym Show during junior and senior year.

We're super proud of you, Judy.

I need to give a shout-out to Tony Pileggi for posting the above picture on Facebook.  His daughter, Paula (second from right) was also inducted.  And in past years, Christian and Brenda Lear, children of Sue (Ritchie) and Ron Lear also joined this elite group.

Here are a couple pictures uploaded from the UMHS Alumni Facebook site:

Way to go, Judy!

5th Reunion - 1968

Allan Brandt sent this to me - the letter about the 5th reunion in 1968.  Did you attend?  It was held at Casa Continental on Davisville Road.  The live entertainment was The Saints of Ives.  Fun night!

58TH Reunion - Together Finally!

FINALLY - we were able to get together in person for our 58th reunion.  This year it was held on November 6 at Phil's Tavern.  Sam Paone graciously offered to pay for our meals.

Due to other commitments and illness, a few of our "regular" attendees were unable to join us.  But for those there, we had a great time.  Denny Johnson brought along some of his paintings for those who didn't get one at the 56th reunion.  Sam pulled out his guitar (who knew?) and led a sing-along.  Tina sent me videos of him singing and playing and I'm going to try to get them posted here.  Lots of laughs and stories, great food - and hugs!  Of course, everyone attending was fully vaccinated.

I'm going to just post the pictures that have been sent to me and identify the classmates.

This is a golden bear that John McDonald found - he'll be joining us at all our future reunions!

Our fantastic host, Sam Paone

Peggy Tull, Ray Roberts, and Sam.  Somehow Peggy's husband, Gary Addy, got chopped off this picture.

The never-aging Tony Pileggi, Karen West, and Allan Brandt

Linda and Don - they became a couple after the 55th reunion

Doris and Carole

Nancy and Lynda

Joyce, Shirley, and me

Jeff, Betty, and Denny

Bonnie and Tom

Mrs. and Mrs. O'Hara - Gary and Shirley

Allan - smile - you won half of the 50/50!

Denny - you should be smiling too - you won the other half!

Sing for us, Sammy!

Egil brought 3 pictures of our class right before graduation.  These were published in The Daily Intelligencer on June 3, 1963. See how many you can recognize!

I have a video scan of the reunion and 3 videos of Sammy singing, but I can't figure out how to get them posted here.  I'll keep trying! Where are the tech-savvy kids when you need them??

Oh wait, a little more.  Judy and Carole came up a couple days early and stayed a couple days past the reunion so they could spend time with some of us.

Spending an afternoon with Tina and John at their antique booth in Quakertown

Sunday lunch with Sandy Granato

And Sunday dinner with me!
